Actually make use of the HAS_NEON macro to make the FastEDP code also compile on non-arm and pre-armv7 platforms. Useful to use that on a Raspberry Pi Zero and Raspberry Pi 1.

Have you tested this with real hardware? If so, what display panel are you using?

I hadn't planned on supporting anything less than a Cortex-A7. What project are you creating on your RPI1?

I am trying to get the trmnl-display running on a raspberry pi zero
with a waveshare 5.83inch black and white display.
But apart from compiling I could not verify that is actually works, because I think on my setup the spi interfaces are not exposed through /dev but directly address via the gpio pins, which makes it crash in the setup phase for the device.

You already had setup the makefile to distingush between armv7l and others, so I figured having support for other platforms was always the plan here, especially because there is only one routine having neon code and it had the, what I thought was the before working scalar code, right next to it.

But I understand if you don't want to support too many platforms/configurations.
Feel free to close this MR if you don't want it in.

Ah - so this PR is really about getting trmnl-display to work on the original Pi Zero. That should be possible and FastEPD can basically be disabled because it will be bb_epaper doing the work in your case. I no longer own an older Pi Zero, so I can't test this at the moment. I checked about buying one and the places with reasonable prices are out of stock while others are asking ridiculous prices. I'm sorry, but at the moment I can't help you with this.
